The Story

THE ISLANDS

My family comes from Santo Antão — the greenest and steepest of Cabo Verde’s islands, its magical volcanic mountains folding the roads back on themselves, the Atlantic never out of reach. I grew up between several cultures, not just one — and it made me resilient, resourceful, and sure of who I am. All of it is still with me.

If one value has formed me, it is the resilience of the people of Cabo Verde — quiet, enduring, unmistakable. The world caught a glimpse of it this summer, when the islands stepped onto football’s biggest stage at the 2026 World Cup.

THE WORLD

I moved abroad as a young adult, and it formed me more than any school could. A new country teaches you to arrive — to listen first, to find your way, to turn strangers into friends. I never stopped: years of travelling and working across the world left me with friendships on nearly every continent, the kind that pick up mid-sentence after years apart.

THE ROOMS

My working life has been spent in rooms where things had to go right. Embassies in Kenya and Spain. Boardrooms in the Netherlands, as executive assistant and consultant to CEOs. Retreats organised for entire foundations, international meetings moved across borders without a seam showing. I did the work nobody sees when it works — and everybody sees when it doesn’t.

Rooms like these made me resourceful — there is always a way, usually a more elegant one than the obvious — and creative in the way only constraints can teach.

I carry seven languages — some from home, some from study — and one conviction:

Turning complexity into clarity. That has always been the work.

THE TURN

At a certain point the work turned from logistics toward people. I coached and mentored — creative entrepreneurs, mostly — and spoke on stages, helping them find the line through their own noise. It taught me the other half of the craft: clarity isn’t only made in calendars and briefings. It’s made in a person deciding what actually matters. Subtle work, and expressive — the kind I do best.

THE SENSES

Through everything ran one constant: self-expression through the senses. Fashion, worn as a language. Fragrance, chosen like a signature. Music, always playing somewhere in the house. What you wear, what you breathe, what you listen to — they say who you are before you speak.

NOW

Now I’m building something of my own. It gathers everything — the islands, the world, the rooms, the languages, a lifetime of the senses — into a vision of my own, brought to life and made to be shared.

It has a name. You’ll hear it soon. And — between us — I’m having more fun than any boardroom ever allowed.

A life’s work, in progress.
